Boost Guage

I've only had my evo for a few months now and so far I've done a 3in cat-back and intake. Today I installed a boost guage and it's ranging between 14 and 18 pounds of boost and I was wondering if thats normal or if there is a way to fix it?

P.S. its an 03 with 50,000 miles

Just curious...where did you T into for your boost pressure source? Also, what brand of gauge did you install? Floor your car in 5th and what's that reading? Generally, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gears will read a couple pounds lower than 4th and fifth.

What do you mean you don't know if it has a boost controller? If it does indeed have an MBC..then turn it up a couple of pounds. If it does not have an MBC...then buy one and turn it up a couple of pounds.

You might wanna do boost leak check while you're at it. Or at least, it's advisable to check all the intake and intercooler hose couplings and clamps for condition and tight fit.

Sparky, I tapped into a rubber line that turned into metal line and it went from the turbo to the intake manifold. And as for the gauge its an Autometer ultra-light series. And as far as doing a boost leak check everything looks ok. Is there a better way to check?

No, I was abel to fit hose-clamps. I even remembered to use plummers tape on the treaded connection in the back of the gauge.

I called my local mitsu dealer and they said I should only be running 15psi through the turbo and its normal for the boost to very alittle. So I guass I'll have to go get a manual-boost controller.

Which would be better the Forge brand contoller or from Perrien?
