Just wondering if an older Eclipse/Talon 4G63 head would fit on a (2004 Evo 8) 4G63 block? Or were there any slight changes between that time?

 

The Evo VIII engine is 5 generations more advanced of the eclipse motor. Also, the Eclipse motor (including head) is mounted in the opposite direction. There is no direct fitment at all.

Yeah it is possible. They come from EVOs.

Find your favorite speed shop to port your stocker, there is no direct replacement that wasnt derived from a stock head. In other words, no aftermarket that didnt start off as a mitsu casting.

 

No, I don't have the head period. I've only got the block, crank and pistons. It's from a brand new '04 Evo, and I wanna rebuild it. But I can't find a damn head
