Least restrictive and most durable high flow cat????

Okay welp I live in california so that should answer any of the "testpipe FTW" responses

So I know that metallic core cats are most durable compared to the clay brick style.

I want to remain legal as far as the cat goes to avoid the 2000 dollar fine.

So I would like recommendations from people that actually run HFC.

What brand are you using?
What did you pay?
Where did you get it?
How long have you been using it?
Do you have a CEL??

Dyno sheets would be beneficial if you have em...

And just so you know I am going to run testpipe on the roadcourse and dyno so that I don't ruin the cat.

Would also like there to be an 02 bung so I can run all the stock 02 sensors..

Thanks in advance for any responses.

??? huh..

Try WORKS they are right in your area. Had mine for almost 2yrs no problem.. I got it with their TBE package so lil over $1400. I opted for their stealthwork instead of the ABM (dont like the coffee_can exhaust) no hassles from cops.

I am running testpipe for dyno runs and track events. I was told to do this because super rich mixtures for long periods of time can ruin a cat. At least I know they can kill the brick kind, never used a metal core one before.

So while driving on the street I'm gonna use the metallic cat. I was told the unburnt fuel from rich mixtures will sit inside the cat and kill it due to the excessive heat.

Random Tech cat... no problems at all. Got it used and still works fine. No cel cause i've been using the anti-fouler trick. Had it for about 1-1/2years now.

It's daily driven and have taken it to the road track a few times already. I read it was one of the better hi-flow cats out there and i haven't had any problems with it.

Random Tech cat is supposedly almost equal in performance to a test pipe according to a few magazine articles, I've read. In one case it produced 1HP more than a test pipe, go figure. But it is definately not the cheapest, probably one of the most expensive ones.

www.randomtechnology.com

They even have dyno comparisons ...

I agree. I'm now using a race cat by the same core manufactuer. It's a metallic substrate with a 100cell count, Random's is either 100 or 300 cel. I had to buy in bulk so got them at a resonable cost.

PM me with a price please on the 7000 series with 3" inlet/outlet with intall kit.

First of all you need to compare the cel number.

The stock is around 400cel
Randontech 300cel
Helix 200cel
Apexi 130cel

The lower the better

Hi,

I've had the RT for almost 2 years. With a single anti-fouler I get no CEL. Made 331 HP and 338TQ on Pruven's dynojet. No problems getting my inspection sticker here in MA.

Good luck,
