bov leak

i just put on the greddy rs recirc. valve and the little piston or valve that lets air blow out doesnt seat on the seat it leaves a tiny gap. i cant figure out why and it wont push all the way back down even if i try and force it. also when it blows off it flutters i didnt think greddys do this but is it because im recirculating??

i tryed it but its not needed so i put both back in. it runs fine now but it leaks a tiny bit at boost instead of 1.3 bars its like 1.1-1.2 at full boost. the valve doesnt fully close. can a boost leak like this be harmful also?

lol funny thing i got my greddy rs installed today. if i only give enough gas to stay in low boost, the car would run extremely rich, 10 on the a/f gauge and the car bogs

I have the Greddy RS recirc. also. What are your mods that you have? If it flutters (like a turkey call) when you build boost & dump it, its to tight. It should be a clean whoosh. If you build boost at 1-4psi, then dump it, there should be a slight flutter. I kept both springs in mine, IMO it works better at high/low boost response between shifts. Aslo, how do you know the valve isn't closing? Whats the noise its making?

I am not talking about the flutter noise. I found the right adjustament point to avoid fluttering. However, at low boost it will flutter no matter what... Even the stock bov flutters...

Before i change the bov, i was boosting 22psi. After i changed the bov, the car was boosting 18psi and couldn't hold boost until the redline... I tried various adjustments on the bov, but i couldn't find why... Then i removed the greddy and examined it, and i saw the small gap between the piston and the bov area, You could see it through the recirculating pipe... I unscrewed the bov to pieces moved the diaphram around and the piston sat properly... Screwed everything back, installed it and then again drove the car to test it... Still no proper boost...

i removed the bov again and the gap was still there, again... and you cannot push/force it to close completely... I don't know if my greddy has a problem from the factory... currently i have my stock metal bov and enjoy my 22psi...

Hope someone can help with my problem...

Why in the world are people spending $200 to replace their awesome IX DV with a BOV that causes problems? I will just never understand why so many IX owners are so clueless. It's the best Evo _EVER_, yet the owners think they are driving a Honda.

26.5psi daily - Forge RS. I also have a JDM MR DV (IX DV) that I keep spare just in case. It was on the car when I ran my 12.000 @ 113 before the alky and cams.

my greddy rs has the same exact problem. i took it apart and it seated and i tested it and pushed the valve back up and it never came back down to seat and leaves a little gap again.
