Lifter?

First of all i did a search and could not find this.

How do you tell when the lifter is shot or needs to be replaced? And if they do need to be replaced. What are the best ones to get OEM or some other company?

Thanks

To tell if it's bad, you can compress the lifter and it should spring back. If it stays compressed, it's bad. You have to "bleed" the lifter first or you never be able to compress it with your fingers.

If you're in need of replacement lifters, Jackson Auto Machine (JAM) is the place to get them. They use an upgraded "guaranteed not to tick" lifter that works very well. They cost about $160 for the entire set.
