Case Study # 335 - Stage I Evo IX - good tuning picks up great power

Here is a Evo IX that I tuned today with Stage I with only a HKS RS Intake and 3" Exhuast and Walbro Fuel Pump

The car used Ecu controlled boost at 20 psi on 93 octane pump gas

The before run was with a Ecutek base flash from some other tuner

The after map was with a custom Dyno Flash Ecutek Tuned map

Nice power delivery from simple mods

How can the tune be so bad that you gained 50 WHP?

Was that do to low boost or what?

That's what I was thinking. How about posting the boost and afr's before/after?

Edited - (new software for DD corrections.)

Also, I don't recall ever seeing a stg 1 car put down 337whp on a DD dyno on pump - considering a stock Evo IX puts down like 225whp usually... What's the correction?
they have a new software and it reads like a dynojet

Appartently the previous tuner did not have the ecu controlled boost figured out well as the boost ast hitting 15 psi and tapering from there

Mine holds 20 psi till nearly the red line and then drops to 17

Well there you have it......

I can't believe some people are running around in modded EVOs without a boost gauge.
