i am amechanic i say that is aserious defect and that is a problem with the tranny parts they use or you have increase your horsepower to like 200 more with torque increase 150 than I say time for a lighten flywheel cluth/pressure plate and strenghten axles and then it can be the way you shift and drive can be the problem too. just some thing to look in to

I dont know where to get axles but I have never heard of an evo breaking an axle? oh and yes I do drive it hard sometimes I shift very agressively when drag racing it but thats about it. I mean why have all the power not have fun with it once in a while...

now that is what i am talkin about ,look at trucking spot that customs the trucks for heavy duty. they should have axles to hold up the pressure to transer the torque more to wheels and susp.and you should be able to drive hard all day like the real rally evos, just preventive maintance i rather change tires and mintor tierods and etc. pieces every 4 months then tranny parts
