Clutch help!!!
ok so this weekend my clutch basicly went. it wont hold the power anymore so i will need to upgrade. i have a few questions for u guys
1. can i reuse my stock flywheel (24,000 miles)
2. i will be upgrading my 20g-9-5 to a FP3065 so i need a clutch that will hold that power.
3. what are some good choices in clutches that are quality and not going to break the bank. and also where can i get these clutches.
so basicly i need a clutch that will hold 400+tq 400+whp that will not cost me $1,600. i see AMS has a single plate exedy clutch for $500 but is that better then stock? also Buschur has a ACT and centerforce clutch for the price range im in, are they any good and will they hold more than the stock clutch. thanks for your help in advance.

You won't know if you can reuse your stock flywheel until you look at it. You ought to call AMS of Buschur and tell them what you need and ask what they recommend. Trust them more than any answer you get on here. A quick call and you'll be in business

Thats the clutch I had put in. I didn't really notice the pedal stiffness increase. I would consider the feel close to stock actually. No problem with my hp and trq and I make about 350wtrq and no lockout. I also suggest pm'ing ACTman he helped me alot.

Here is a good clutch poll for basically the same needs, regardless of budget (over 300 people now): https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=126768
The stock flywheel can be resurfaced as long as it is not too warped from overheating the slipping clutch. The problem is finding a place to do the job right, including rebalancing. Place a straight edge on the clutch surface and run a feeler gauge between the straight edge and the inner diameter of the clutch surface. If this is less than .020" then you should be pretty safe to resurface it. If it is more than .030", then I would probably replace it. If you are looking for a replacement, there is one name that comes to mind... ; )
