Question Twin scroll or not to twin scroll

What do you guys think would a twin scroll gt30r setup have a noticable power loss opposed to a regular gt30r setup without the twin scroll confriguration. Waht do you guys think would be the difference in spool up between the 2 different setups.

Minimal power loss if any, better spool.

Would it be like a 500rpm spool up difference between the setups with mivec.

make sure the manifold also had a divided housing with cilinders 1&4 paired and 2&3 paired. running a divided turbo without a divided housing is useless

I'm not sure why this hasn't been something that's been more popular or tried sooner. Both ATP & APS make new configurations of 30R & 35R's with twin scroll housings.

While this is not a Evo, listed below is some info from/about STI's with a twin scrolls.

APS is claiming almost 20lbs of boost by 3500rpms in fourth gear with their 35R with a twin scroll.

Since a 4g63 has a better engine configuration, I would think with a stroker motor & MIVEC you could do at least that good, but I would imagine if this is true, you should actually do a better.....

I've not had time to put together loads of data yet as I am extremely busy though when I was on the dyno yesterday I quickly checked the boost pressure in steady state snap shot conditions, here's what the dyno snap shot recorded.

2000 RPM 1.62 PSI

2500 RPM 3.40 PSI

3000 RPM 10.41 PSI

3500 RPM 19.21 PSI

4000 RPM 20.26 PSI

I did not run past 4000 RPM as I was just interested in the low to mid RPM boost delivery with the larger .82 A/R turbine housing, I'll leave the rest to our US dealers.

Here is a comparison of a twin scroll vs. a 4 into one. Pay attention to the boost curve. Twin scroll in red. Was not on the same car so HP and TQ are neccessarily a result of the twin scroll, but given that both cars have same displacement and turbo, it should be a good representative of spool difference. Twin scroll is using a .78 A/R, while the 4into1 is using a .63 A/R.
