Shearer 50Trim vs. HKS GT3037s

hey guys...

tossing between those two kits...i have zero experience with the 50 Trim..but i have driven and raced in a 2.2L + HKS 3037 (my friends) it makes 500 whp...and it pulls like a raped ape...lets put it this way...from an 80 km/h roll...till 240km/h its pulls on a C6 ZO6....but i dont know how it will do on a stock bottom end 2.0..

so which of the kits would you guys choose and why?

respect

I don't know why those 2 are your choices among the plethora of awesome, proven turbos out there, but between these two, I would choose anything made by Shearer everyday of the week and twice on Sunday.

Is there a reason you aren't considering the more commonly used and proven turbo kits like the Buschur FP3065, Buschur 20g-LT, AMS 50-trim, etc?

I haven't seen any negative feedback, and I've seen a lot more positive feedback than I have on a Shearer 50-trim. I'ev seen no results of that turbo, but as you see above, I have a lot of confidence in anything made by Shearer, so I give it the benefit of the doubt.

There are a lot more proven and commonly used kits then the 2 Buschur and 1 AMS you just mentioned. Please get out of your little box.

As far as the 20GLT yes it might a great upgrade for some people. But from the testing Dave did with the customer car it did not convince me. Overall he made 40whp 40ftlbs more. This is with the addition of 20GLT coming from the old 20G-5-9, C16, and AEM. And about 8whp/2ftlbs on stock ecu w/20GLT 31psi C16 & Alky. That is a lot of money for 40whp/ftlbs, IMO.

AEM- $1600-2400
20GLT- $1700
Evo9 Install Kit- $270
Tuning- $400

Total- $3970-$4770

Proven......

I'd stick with the Buschur GT-30 or FP3065.

guys...i havent started this thread to doubt any turbo kit quality..and i knwo for a fact that MANY and MOST of the mentiioned and sujjested kits are quality kits...no doubt..

but let me be more specific in my need..i need a kit thats drivable..traffic light to traffic light kind of kit...usable power and a good area under the power curve..i am not looking for a dyno queen..neither am i interested in a top-end-only turbo...
with that in mind...
buschur is another alternative...i like his products...maybe the 3076 but the 20lt did not do it for me...from my research it only performed will when c16 and meth were added to the formula..for me..i know for a fact that I WILL NEVER USE those two..
however if it could give me 40whp just by bolting it on and tuning i will be all over that thing..1700$ is not a problem for something i want and something that fits my needs.

respect
keep discussing

thanks

BBY, not sure why you felt it necessary to attack my comment. Those are proven mid-sized turbos. What else do you want me to recommend? Name some other mid-sized turbos that are better.

Btw, 40whp/40wtq gains are very nice. Those gains would be even higher coming from a fully stock turbo.

Lcakes, I still have my stock 05 turbo.
