High Idle?

I have a completely stock 2003 Evo 8. It is idling a little high, about 1250, is that normal? Even after driving it for about 5 mins after its warmed up it will idle high, anyone else experience this on a completely stock car? Thanks!

nope definately not normal, check for a boost/vaccuum hose that may have come off on your manifold

If you have the selector knob set to defrost or partial defrost the ac compressor turns on, which could cause a higher idle, although 1250 is still kind of high. check for manifold leaks

Did you car come with a stock boost gauge? make sure all the connections to your apexi boost gauge are tightened down.

Coolant temperature sensor maybee?

The ECU is setup to idle the car higher until the engine temp hits a certain temp then it lowers down.

Why not just take it to the dealer and let them diagnose it?

i'd be willing to bet you have a boost/vacuum leak. make a tester to do a leak check.
