AVO D-Series TURBO on a 2.3 Stroker!!!! Who Knows something about this KIT!!!!!

I'm purchasing a AVO D-Series turbo kit form a friend. He made 366whp & 305tq (dynojet) untuned on a 2.0 with supporting mods. His car seems very laggy although it is untuned. Can someone please educate me about this turbo kit and what I can expect on a 2.3L.

I had difficult time finding info about this turbo. http://www.avoturbo.com/avoshop/prod...products_id=34

Tuning wont make a huge difference in the way a turbo spools. Unless you are getting the kit really cheap I would pass. Remember people have gone far in the 120mph range with the stock turbo and 366whp on a dynojet is far from spectacular. How would you like it if you put on this turbo kit and got spanked by a stock turbo car? Just food for thought, plus im drunk

That really doesn't seem all that impressive. Of course it's hard to say without knowing any specifics. What type of boost was he running when he made those numbers? What size is the turbo? D-series doesn't tell me anything.

That is worse than non impressive, that is bad, downright horrible for any evo with any aftermarket turbo kit.

The "D-Type" turbo should be larger than a 3076. I had the "S-Type," and it was a GT30-18 CHRA, which could be called a 3076. The D-Type kit is rated 100hp higher than the S-Type kit.

Here's some data I put together on the S-Type unit. I was able to get about 47lb/min (compared to 35lb/min on the IX turbo) out of it on 91 octane at 25psi. I reached peak boost around 4500rpm on a 2.0L. It should spool considerably faster on a 2.3L.

Code:
GT3076R -18 Compressor Turbine
Turbo	CHRA	Wh Dia Trim	A/R	Wh Dia Trim	A/R	Type
		Ind	Exd Ind	Exd
700382-18 55.11	76.2	52	0.60	59.69	54.86	84	.86	Free Float

I thought this originally, too. However, my research (posted above) suggests that this isn't the case. I'm not sure which CHRA is in the D-Type, but it should be larger.

Scorke

Why are those horrible numbers? 366whp (21psi) without a tune, NO cam gears and Stock Intercooler

what number did you make on your gt3076 on 91 octance
