500whp Evo VIII on pump gas (93 octane)

Just curious what it would take to build a 500whp Evo VIII daily driver on 93 octane only?

An extremely large, slow-spooling turbo with all the associated bolt-ons, supporting fuel mods, and a standalone ECU. Or, you could add alky injection to that 93oct and get there with a mid-sized turbo on a flash.

93 octane, + methinal injection, 35R, 272cams, intercooler, exhaust, AEM, on and on...

I dont think it is possible to have 500whp on just 93 octane. We are not V-8's

I guess if you had a dyno place huge the numbers for you then you could get 500whp on 93. othere than that i dont think its possible. 450- 460 yes. not 500 that i know of.

why use 93oct when there is methanol...larger turbos needed to achieve those numbers need high boost which is just not possible on 93oct in most applications....

ps is this Pete with the white subaru...

Bushur 2.3 block with Shearer pt67 kit
Buschur race head
built tranny
beefed up axles
AEM ems
1000+ injectors
twin fuel pump
etc etc etc

I think David Buschur's brother and a few customers have this setup. I believe they got 500-520 AWHP on their heartbreaker dyno on pump @ 22psi with no meth or alky. That equates to 600+WHP on higher reading dynos on straight 93 pump with a safe tune. I still prefer their high reving 2.0 block matched up to their 35r kit' like David has on his RS, which ran 9's with that setup on C16. I wonder how much power the RS makes on pump @ 22psi on their low reading dyno.

If there is a e85 station near you. You could run 500+whp daily for only $2.40ish per gallon

Difference....

One turbo is cut for a good powerband for street driving..

The other is some large obnoxous turbo where you dont see full boost till over 6000-6500 RPM and you don't have much of a powerband for street driving.

Yeah.

Slow spooling turbo is refered to by size. You cannot go and pickup a GT35R with the "slow spooling" option. When you bolt a turbo onto a engine. Its either going to spool quick or spool slow due to the characteristics of the turbo. There are some measures you can go to help a larger (slow spooling) turbo to spool faster, such as Nitrous. However, if your engine isn' t built I would suggest you not do that.

I would suggest just doing the GT35R.
It's the street turbo to have if your looking to make 500-600whp..

I would go for 1000cc injectors 280 cams or 272. And alky + 35r 500+
