This is why you look after your EVO/Turbo Car
Here it is.. the turbo rebuild kit in flesh.. $300 AUS for this.. then it takes another $250 to get your turbo rebuilt to specs again..
When the seal on your turbo goes, it starts shooting oil into the intake, and to replace the seal, you have to replace the whole kit.. and usually they have to order it in..
This is for my TC06 out of my cordia.. All because of the owner who had the car before didnt let it cool down after a hard drive.
Pete.

Is that your shoe on the desk?
So they sell the reubuild seals as a kit? Kinda weird, but kinda neat. How many miles were on the turbo and engine before it started leaking? I'm kinda curious how long until we start hearing of failures....but regardless...isn't cooling less necessary for BB turbos too? And uh...does the Evo's turbo have ball bearings?

k. Andrew, yes that is my shoe. Globe DC's.. if you curious..
my foot was on the desk because i wastrying to get the right light angle cause the digicam is **** in artificial light.
I dont think terms of use really matters.. if you thrash it, then turn off, it will bugger up nearly instantly..
And its then same throughout the turbo range no matter what sorta turbo you got.. the impellor is running like 19000 rpm.. some turbos, the exhaust housing can glow white.. when they are hot, it is essential to leave it running for a while

actually the turbo's can go well in excess of 100,000 RPM all our turbo's andrews for example are ballanced to 110,000 RPM and andrew was one of the few that his turbo was perfectly ballanced at thar RPm and beyond.
bought from turbonetics and verified at a local turbo balancing shop, (one of 3 in the country)
