What would you get first

I'm just looking for some advice on what to purchase for my Car first.

Port and Polish head

Cam, Gears and vavtrain upgrade

Rods and Pistons - crower and wiseco

Manifold, gate

Some kind of ecu to tune your car.

Can i use a SAFC and a innovate to tune my car for now untill i get a standalone?

My advice would be to learn about your car before you waste your money or blow it up

Port and Polish head: Don't even consider doing this till much later on in the modding proccess. It is $1200-2500 fo 15-20 WHP...IF it is done right. If done poorly you will lose horsepower.

Cam, Gears and vavtrain upgrade: Cams and gears are a good mod providing a big power increase for $350-&750(cams) dollars. Whether or not you need springs and retainers depends on the lift of the cams you choose.

Rods and Pistons - crower and wiseco: You're talking a total rebuild here. Don't do this unless you have a blown engine or are building your car for a specific purpose. This equals big expense.

Manifold, gate: A Buschur ported stock manifold is all you really need with the stock turbo. If you go with a tubular manifold you'll only net aboout 5 WHP, if that. With the stock turbo you won't need an aftermarket remote gate.

Some kind of ecu to tune your car: Get an ECU flash based on your mods, or do the ECUFlash/Tactrix cable thingy...it is cheap and adaptable. Or if you have someone nearby who really understands the SAFC, then, yes, you could go that route.

Can i use a SAFC and a innovate to tune my car for now untill i get a standalone?: A standalone will not be real user friendly and has a rather steep learning curve. Now, if you have a local tuner, then sure, go with what he(or she) recommends. Get some sort of Data logging tool for tuning as well as the AFR gauge
Ultimately, you should decide what you want to do with the car before you start modding in a piecemeal manner. Establish your budget and stay within it. And set a realistic power goal.

The most basic advice usually given is to spend some time searching before you start purchasing a lot of stuff. Maybe you'll be happy with a well thought out performance package such as Buschur/Warrtalon, AMS, or Vishnu.

EDIT: Wow, I hadn't noticed he's got an Evo III

I would suggest checking out the Buschur Stages on their website.
You really can't go wrong with their stage setups.
