Hallman Evolution MBC help.

If I didn't buy the Hallman "short" kit that is designed specifically for the Evo, will I have to cut my Hallman Evo MBC to make if fit? I guess the short kit for the Evo is 20 inches shorter than the kit that I have. help please.

If you mean by cut down the length of cable/sheath for the cockpit control, yes.

Should I cut out 20 inches then since the evo specific kit is 20 inches shorter? What should I use to cut it?

locate where you want to mount the boost controller in the engine bay, locate where you want to mount the adjustment knob in the cockpit, and drill a hole for the cable in the firewall that is convinient, and is pretty much a straight shot from the mbc to the adjustment knob. once you get things mounted, it's easy to see how much of the cable needs to be cut out. Leave a little bit of a curve in the cable in the engine bay so that you don't cut it too short! To short and you're screwed, too long and your loop is just a bit bigger. I used a dremel, but a hacksaw will work. Here's pics of mounting locations.

Yeah, just stretch it out. The instructions should say something about a minimum bend radius. The tighter the bend, the more force it's going to take on the adjustment knob to turn it. It's a pretty smooth and simple operation though, even with a fairly radical bend in the cable. Drilling the hole in the firewall is the hardest part.

yeah, cut the cable separate and cut the sheath separate. That way you don't get any metal shavings in the sheath, only plastic. I don't think I even bothered blowing it out.

Cool thanks a lot for your help man. Did you need anything extra when you did the install (hoses, etc.)?
