next time please search, there are quite a few threads regarding about aftermarket BOV's. trust me, you got one of the best functioning DV's which holds plenty of boost. there is no need to upgrade unless your gonna run an upgraded turbo and stand alone ecu with speed density.

I have to agree the IX or the VIII JDM MR stock BOV is a great unit and if you do switch to the HKS you have a lot of problems as many people have posted whom have tried to use it. If you do a search under BOV's you will see what we mean.
I upgraded my stock VIII plastic BOV to the one you have and it hold perfectly with no surging or any problems. I have seen other Evo's holding 30psi on crushed ones.

Stock DV will hold around 26psi from what I've read on this board.

I'm 4 psi over so I need a new dv. Forge RS full recirc for me.

the stocker should hold 26 psi with no problem. If you plan on going much higher with alky or similiar and still want to keep the stock like driveability you can get the dejon fix for your stock IX bov which will hold anything (boost) you can throw at it. (so i,m told) Do a search and you will find every answer you need about bov,s.
