best fmic?

hi i have an evo IX and during an accedent my intercooler got all bent up and i need to get a new one. i would rather pay an extra few bucks and get an aftermarket one than get another stocker. i have been most interested in the AMS intercooelr. i am running stock turbo and might go to the 20glt or a 50 trim at most next year. would the ams be good or sould i look at some of the other ones on the market such as nisei, buscher, turboxs... tell me what you guys think is the best performing/ best looking intercooler on an ix. plus i am mostly stock all that i have is a turboback exhuast... would i need to get a reflash with the intercooler? would i loose power with an aftermarket intercooler on stock boost level with stock everything except for exhuast? thanks guys

You might want to get a used stocker for now and use the money saved to get cams, tune, or other crap that will net you better gains. You might not want to get.... then the best U.S. made would be Nisei, AMS, Bushur somewhere near that order.

I've got a spare stocker if you choose to go that route ($75+shipping)

I'd agree with the three choices above though. They all make great IC's.

if you are serious to upgrade the FMIC ... AMS is very nice, i do however like the NESEI lower pipe better... its a full 2.5 where as the ams kind of bottle necks. but you can still use your stock piping. but the LICP gives good gains.

Honestly though, the FMIC should not be your next mod, but, if you have to buy a new one anyway, why not spend the extra bit of change and get a nice one and/or find a stocker really cheap on here

if your looking for the best bang for the buck AMS all day i had it for a 2 years there cores are very good and flow great. Ive had rocks and bugs hit it salt from the winter and it never bent any fins and that left me in shock.

But if you want the best ARC is the best front mount you can buy no matter what hp level you have it works great there core flows far more air then any other frount mount out for evo 7-9. And this is one of the reasons why it cost over $1100 bucks its worth every penny and i have to say its the best looking one as well.

The Nisei Competition looks amazing. Anybody know how good the HPF Behemoth FMIC and RNR Race FMIC are?
