Question on GT35R
Question on GT35R
Has anyone tried a GT35R that bolts directly to the stock exhaust manifold. I was looking at this one:

Or is it better to just go with a new tubular mani?

I mean it really isnt gonna matter that much. A nice, well designed equal length tubular manifold is gonna give you some better spool characteristics, but the stock mani. will work just fine. Port it out even if you want.

Firstly, I have searched and have read all about kits but wanted to know if there is "THAT MUCH" of a difference if you just put a bolt on GT35R to the existing stock manifold. I plan on a jackson stroker and heads first so don't feel like spending $3,500 - $4,000 on a top kit yet. For $1,000 I don't mind if it will get me through until later when I plan on getting a better kit. To me reliability is more important than speed especially since it is for my son.

I think that there is a strong argument that the cast manifolds are stronger then equal length tubular mani.s. But I think that a well designed tubular has to be pushed pretty hard for it to crack. I looked at the turbo and cant really say that I have seen anyone try it. So give it a shot and let us know some numbers!
