Weird noise from 6k on up... anyone else?

you might be hearing your internal wastegate opening more, which lets more of the natural engine sound (unmuffled by the turbo) of the engine at 6-7k rpm.

when my 1.8t had an internal wastegate, i could hear it when it opened. a subtle roaring sound.

that describes it best, a subtle roarding sound that coincides with engine speed.... Damn almost lunch time....
