I've seen the hoses expand quite a bit just blipping the throttle... haven't popped one off yet. Since they expand so bad though, I'm replacing all the hoses with stronger re-enforced silicon hoses until I buy a intercooler piping upgrade kit. Shiv has the only company that has replied to me having the silicon "kits" for the EVO VIII. They claim it to replace seven hoses (I haven't counted), and come in blue, red, and yellow. They said they could get me good old black in a couple of weeks. Think it was $279.

Seems Vivid has a 6 piece Samco silicon hose kit at $269. Samco are 4 ply if anyone cares... probably the same kit Shiv sells. I'll order either from Shiv or Vivid depending who can get me black...

Our upper i/c pipe kits are done. We are just waiting on the couplings to throttle body.

The kit is 2.5" mandrel bent stainless steel. They come polished or powder coated in black. The weight is the same as the stock plumbing which is half aluminum and half rubber. We were able to shorten the plumbing by almost a 18" and we removed 6 bends from it. The kit should be about $200. Since we changed the way it was routed to make it flow better it also required our lightweight battery kit which is $225. The battery kit has to be used to get the room for the routing and it takes 20 pounds off of the nose of the car.

David,

I considered your intercooler pipe upgrade, but I'm trying to "look" a little more conservative... us old folks you know .

BTW, thanks for straightening out my order... re-placed it a few minutes ago with Chris.

David does good old fashion business people! He stands by his word, and takes care of the customer. His customer service is to the like I have not seen in 20 years... I hope he expands his Evo line. I'll be glad to do more business with his company in the future... now if I could only decide which direction I really want to go?

...there is more power "seen", and not "seen" under the hood... I prefer the latter. David's upgrade package goes against my preferance, however, it is very tempting.
