boost leak?

I have an 04 evo 8 that boosts just fine but between 3k and 5k rpm's it seems to shudder and lose boost, above 5k rpm's though it seems to be just fine. i checked all of the icp but cant figure out what it is. any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
