Yeah, forgot about Eagle rods, for OP's application they would be the best choice. I usually dont think about Eagle cause I'm one to over build, but they will for sure handle more power than you'de be giving em, and they're cheaper. As far as pistons, JE, Wiseco, Ross take your pick, probly some other good ones I'm forgetting too. I would however stay away from CP, that's just my opinion though.

I'm running wiseco stroker and manley "turbo tuff" i-beams

H beam rods are rated at 600hp for evos.

If you feel you want to push the limits go with a I beam rod.

Stay away from aluminum rods for a street car.

Any name brand piston Ross, Wiseco, CP, JE are all very proven brands I bought my manleys and wisecos and were very impressed with the quality.

slowboy has a piston/rod package for 700 ross/eagle. You could get some i beams and ross pistons for 1,000 ifyou call them i'm sure.. that would be my route man.

Catch 22 There are so many dsm's and evo's that push theses rods 700+whp they hold up just fine. People say not to push them past 650whp they hold up fine if you take care of your motor nothing will happen to them.

I hate to compare apples and oranges, but I use wiseco pistons in my all my mx bikes (rm 125, yz 250, lt 250r) and have tried other brands of piston. I have found that the wiseco pistons + rings lasted in the top end 25% longer than counterparts. But we are talkin two totally different combustion systems, just wanted to add my 3 cents

On a budget do Engine Pro rods and Manley pistons, about $698.00 retail, Eagle rods falls a couple dollars higher but we prefer the Engine Pro.

If you are on a slight budget, do Manley H beam rods and Manley pistons... this is a $748.00 option at list price.

If you can spend a little more, do the Manley H beam rods and Wiseco pistons. This set is just under $790.00. We use Manley H beams and Wiseco pistons in the EVO IV rally car, and will do so on the new EVO IX rally car.

Wiseco/ SBR offers many different custom combos including the 1400HD forging with steel tool wrist pin. This piston however is a bit overkill for what you are asking for, and expensive at about $550.00 per set.

If you are feeling like over 600 WHP, then I would suggest Manley I beam rods and Wiseco or Ross pistons I beam set up for around $1,100.00 with either piston. Do not forget new bearings!

Eagle rods and wiseco pistons.

It will run you about $850 bucks and i ran that combo in my car for some time with no issuses.
possibly the worst rod choice ever, might as well sick with stock.... why spend 350 on rods when the stockers can handle 450 to the face all the time? not worth it, if your going to pull the motor build the **** outta it

Mahle pistons and Carrillo rods. It's just one of those things for me, I guess, but when I went to the PRI show in Orlando, the Carrillo rep. started to explain to me about the grain structure in their rods. The grain apparently does not go all in one direction, but actually bends around the crank end, it is supposed decrease the shearing properties. As for Mahle, (250 grams) well if you don't know the secret there, then go find out. Oh yeah I'd probably use Cavidur N by Berkaert to coat the pistons. If you really want to push the cost factor, Arrow will custom make your own Titanium rods. That is all. ...for now
