Redline MT90 and MTL blend
Redline MT90 and MTL blend
Yesterday I filled the Transmission on my 2005 GSR 5 speed with a mixture of 2 quarts if MT90 and one qaurt of MTL at 18,500 miles.
I am very impressed with the mixture. Shift feel is vastly improved both cold(30 degrees outside) and hot when everything is warm.
We'll see how it wears after a few thousand miles. I'll try and remember to post here as the miles wear on.

You should be able to run straight mt90 and be fine but IMO this mix is just right.
I let a friend of mine who has had both the 5 speed and six speed evos drive my car with the new tranny oil today.
He said mine shifts the smoothest shifting evo he has driven.
And my car shifted absolutely like crap before the change. Notchy as hell. Getting inot gear when cold was an excercise in patience.
I have some shockproof heavy and was thinking of mixing that with mtl in the tranny. What do you guys think? The place I normally buy my oils ran out of mt-90 so I thought this would be a nice alternative.

After I went turbo in the Nissan, I switched to heavyduty shockproof and had been using that for ~40k miles. SE-Rs like to completely shread 3rd gear when boosted, hence the heavyduty shockproof.
I've only really read of Evo guys using it in the transfer case though. I haven't seen any stripped gear issues yet with Evo trannies?
I had used both. I once had problems with the shyncros on my Dodge Stealth R/T twin turbo. I then did an extensive search on www.3si.org and found that the Red line MTL was known to cure the shyncros grinding noises.
For a few minutes after I did the transmiision oil change I thought I was on crack, I couldn't believe how magic this product was. Note I did not use the word good but instead the word magic. This product actually fixes some serious issues that otherwise you and any other transmission shop would had thought that perhaps your transmiision has to be replaced.
Highly recommended(both) MT and MTL

We are approaching 2 months on the mix and I must say I am still pleased.
Even on those god aweful 5 degree mornings the tranny works well.
NOT as good as warmer weather, say above 30 but I am still pleased.
I have driven 1500 miles so far.

My friend, djtmotorsports, had been using it on my evo for the past year and my trans has been great with the mix. A couple of track days each year and lots of daily driving for over 30K miles with the same mixture (changed out every 5-10K miles) and I've had no problems. But I would still recommend the Diaqueen for the rear diffs... just on a side note.
Even with the below 0 deg temps we've had these few weeks, the car shifts pretty well. But it's awesome when the temps are just above the freezing mark.
