I"m tryin to do research on how to convert the evo 8 to mostly RWD. 20 front, 80 rear. Anyone around here know how to do that, or point me to the right direction? thanks!

IIRC, Cusco made a center diff that splits the torque 35/65 (f/r). I do not know if it is still being made, though, nor if it would work in a USDM Evo.

Yes it is and yes it does. Call up Jon at TRE and tell him what you want. He has installed probably 5 or 10 of these so far, even custom fit one into a 6-speed tranny (big $$$).

The diff is about $3500, installation extra.

One more thing to add, I just confirmed it - the Cusco 35:65 tarmac gear is an open diff, so for your car to perform well you need proper front and rear LSDs to control wheel spin. . .

3,500 not bad for a diff with those capabilities considering cusco is a Good after market Company.

Here they have a short vid of a WRX with the Tarmac Gear. I think that anyone who runs this MUST have a built transfer case. The forces trasferred through the TC are going to be much higher, as well as the heat. If the mesh pattern of the ring and pinion in the TC is not optimal, you are gonna break ****.
