Stock vs TBE + MBC + EcuFlash
I am following the parts outlined in Warrtalon's but with my own brands. I think its great that it only takes a few simple parts to transform the EVO.

NO, they don't. Mustangs typically read much lower than a Dynojet and rarely, if ever, do they read higher. That would only happen if a particular shop specifically set it up to read very high, which is bush league.
I disagree on the cat-back, though, because it does not add much power at all, and especially not on a IX. Maybe 10whp, but you can't even hardly feel that - typical placebo effect.
No placebo effect here and I don't drive a IX. I drive a VIII and I certainly know how to determine how a part effects performance. Automotive knowledge is not the exclusive domain of a select few, ya know.
Oh, this thread is talking about IXs, but it still doesn't add much on an VIII either. Automotive knowledge has nothing to do with whether a cat-back adds much power or not. A cat-back does not affect performance much - around 10whp with maybe 15whp at the most. What "methods" did you use to determine that your cat-back made such an unbelievable difference - dyno, drag strip, airflow measured in HZ? I did all 3 of those with my cat-back to see the gains that I couldn't feel, because I can't feel a 10whp difference, but if you can, then perhaps your butt dyno is much more sensitive (or you like placebos =D).
Only if you consider +90-100hp to the wheels to be night and day.
Top end is improved somewhat but it's still not that amazing. But it's a lot stronger than when stock.

Is there a true night and day difference between completely stock vs basic mods.
I have a 2006 GSR se, and im about to put everything on at the same time, and im hoping for a major improvement.
Parts ready to be installed:
Invidia 2.9" 02 housing
Invidia 3" downpipe
Invidia 3" testpipe
Greddy Titanium 3" exhaust
Ecu Flash
Greddy Boost, Greddy water temp, Greddy oil pressure.
Aem Uego Wideband
Forged Boost Controller (plan to set around 20-23psi)
Walbro Fuel Pump
The car stock has awesome low/mid range power, but definally lacks in top end. Does the TBE help with the topend? Im not expecting a topend monster.

Because we've already done testing on that one vs the Works 3" and the regular Ebay ss o2 2.5" (most are 2.5", not 2.75"), and the Invidia made the least power while being the only one that didn't fit properly. It also is about triple the cost of the regular SS O2. The fact that it's 3" (yeah, 2.9" technically) doesn't help it to make more power unfortunately. All 3 were tested on the same car and with matching downpipes.
There is no reason to worry about fitment on the Megan o2 (same as the Ebay o2), since tons and tons of people already use it, but you are right that the Invidia fits the Invidia DP better. There was no reason to get an Invidia DP, though.
Yeah, aesthetics for a much higher cost. There's not much aesthetics, though, when all you see is the muffler. Yes, 3" piping is 3" piping, but some TI cat-backs aren't actually 3", but even if they are, they make no more power than a stainless steel while costing twice as much (or more) and only saving 8lbs in the area where weight savings is less valuable (the rear). If you got that cat-back for $400 or less, then the price was justifiable, but otherwise, the claim of the price being "pretty good" is the same as what everyone else claims when trying to justify the expenditure. Basically, if you end up with something close to a $20/HP ratio, then you're good, but I think you'll be closer to $30/HP.
