New Skunk2 Composite Intake Manifold
That is right. I just got off of the phone with them and Skunk 2 is making a composite intake manifold for the evo 8. I can't wait until it comes out. It will be this summer and no pricing yet. They are also making a billet throttle body and composite fuel rail.
When i was making toilet dump tubes at lear jet out of .090 fiber glass, quality stuff, it held 15psi to pass inspection......Somthing like vacuum formed/auto claved pre-preg material .150-.200 carbon would hold 30 psi easy. Quite a bit more ime sure....
they have been using composite cylinders to hold CNG (compressed natural gas) at well over 1,000 PSI for years now so I don't think 30psi would be any problem assuming there are no defects.

SVSU built a carbon fibre intake manifold for their turbo'd FSAE car. I believe many race cars use them. If it is properly designed, it should be able to hold as much boost as you can throw at it.

probably, I was gonna say the cng tanks were rated to 3,000 psi but It has been many years since I worked around those. Obviously a cylinder is a better pressure vessel than an intake manifold, but I don't think there would be any problem holding more boost than you could throw at it with a proper design.
Exactly if it is designed right it will hold pressure fine, if you notice most of the time they arent made like a big box, they are rounded and have a lot of thought into the stress an intake manifold is subject too. A nitrous back fire could send a chunk of change out the window though.
