anyone know what about a GT61HP turbo?

Hey this might be a repost but does anyone know anything about this turbo?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Innov...66651634QQrdZ1

they claim tha the turbo "made 650 ft-lbf of torque at 4200 rpm with 35 psi boost on a 2.3l engine."

that seems like a fu*k ton of torque at that rpm even for a stroker

i mean just thinking back gt35r with strokers make what? around 550 tq ... but normally strokers make it around 4500rpm ish

this is making 100ft more and spooling FASTER! if this is true holy **** this is a turbo worth lookin into imo

what do you guys think?

Thanks,
Vince

It's ebay. They don't have to live up to the claim on your car, they can just say their car did. Like I could sell a t25 and say it made 600 whp on my fwd base lancer... Doesn't mean they have to make 600whp on yours =)

There's the compressor flow chart for that turbo. I would guess that in Illinois they are close to 14.0psi ambient/barometric pressure. If that's the case then at 35psi you'd be around a 3.5 pressure ratio, which (i'm guessing here, to be 100%accurate you'd need to plot VE, rpm, etc of the engine across the flow chart) would put you around 66-68lbs per minute of airflow on this compressor flow chart. Typically you will see 10whp per every lb/min of air flow. So you'd be around 660-680 whp.

I don't believe you would see 650 lb/ft in an uncorrected number, but depending on the correction factor used on the dyno you may be able to get somewhat close to that.

The T-61 wheel is an old wheel, and was very popular for a lot of years, I have zero first hand experience with it, so I really can't say what kind of torque it will make. But the above would be my best guess.
