Sorry for the thread jack. Has anyone gone from the HKS 280's on a stock turbo and ecu to the JUN 264's? I was thinking of it but don't want to be the first lol.

How much boost makes doesn't really matter.

What fuel doesn't really matter.

What matters is in what rpm range the engine and turbo are making power, and get a cam that realistically matches that power range.

The only difference between the two JUN grinds is duration. The JUN 264s appear to have as much effective duration (or more) as HKS 280s, which should be plenty for an EVO of any displacement making peak power in the 7000-8000rpm range. The biggest benefit of the JUN cams is the ramp design.

well i only use my car for drag races or highway pulling. i want to be able to drop a gear and be gone. but i am keeping the stock turbo. i will be running meth and all the other bolt on's so i guess the 264's would be better for me then the 272's.

i dont care about idle or any of that crap. all i care about is making alot or the most power i can with what i have. and i dont want to wait for the power to kick in and i want to pull as hard as i can to redline. make sence??? i guess the 272's wont give me that. the 264's will. jun btw

For highway pulls with the stock turbo, the turbo will be the limiting factor, not the cams. One reaches a point where longer duration cams cannot increase power at high rpm, they just reduce it at low rpm.

ok so your agreeing whit me right?? i understand the stock snail will be the weak link in this setup. as for longer duration cams not making it better up top the 264's would be my best bet since im picking jun cams. man cams are so confusing. lol

Yes, I am in agreement.

The JUN 264s are a more aggressive cam than are HKS 280s, so that won't be the limiting factor.
