anyone w/an hks hi-power catback plz stand up

well i have an HKS HI-power catback that me and a buddy attempted to install on my car.

i also had the megan dp, and helix hi-flow.. well turns out the dp didnt clear, and the catback doesnt quite align with the helix flanges so im like ok, ill just put the stock dp and cat on the car again.

then we attempted to just put the hks catback on.. something is fishy. i wanted to know if anyone has had fitment issues. we couldnt get the exhaust on the hangers, we noticed the resonator hitting the driveshaft.

did the catback come with the additional bracket so you can relocate one of the hangers?

it came w/a small bracket, and a bigger bracket you screw into the car underneath.
i believe we did that part correctly

I have the Carbon Ti on my car and it uses the same brackets as the Hi Power and it fits on the car fine. If you did not get the brackets outlined in the pictures then it won't mount to the car properly. Another mistake people make with this exhaust is to try to mount it all together on the floor and then bolt it to the car. My suggestion (provided you have all the hardware) would be to install each part one at a time. Good Luck.

I had a hks 30th and turbo xs dp on my VIII and had an old shop no longer in existatnce boost solutions put it on because i was nervous about the fitment issues and the same thing happend they used the brackets included etc,. and for the rest of the time I had the car it would rattle at times and it drove me nuts, I did watch them put it on they did a great job. For some reason it just did not fit right, and HKS is still one of my favorite companies as they were into the import scene when i first noticed in the early nineties in hawaii and california.

do you have the bracket it came with to hold up the muffler or did you by it used? Cause i have seen alot of cases where people buy used HKS catbacks and the seller for gets to give the person the special bracket to make it line up perfect and fit. Happened to my roomate.

yes everything was packaged tight, i have the big bracket that screws into the bottom of the car, and the smaller bracket that goes in the stock rubber hangar position.. but for some reason, the resonator was rubbing against the driveshft

we did notice that my stock downpipe (where the hangars are) were bent in a weird angle, although i could probably bend them 1/2 inch or so, im thinking that may be the problem w/the rest of the catback position. but im thinkin of just selling the catback and going for a buschur tbe
