Does anyone have the specs on these Piper 285's? Are these a Piper catalog item, or are they the grind that's made especially for Evo400 in England. I know he offers a custom grind Piper that can only be had through him or the Dentist(I think).

This is only a screen capture of a part of an incomplete list that I'm working on but it should help.
NB This chart does NOT include any Evo IX MIVEC cam profiles yet.

Strange but Blade and others on Mitsubishi Lancer Register (UK) say that the Piper "Rally" kit seems to perform better with a 2-litre...
The "Ultimate Road" kit with a little less Ex. valve lift seems to work better with a 2.3 stroker.

The Piper kits listed in my chart are from their catalogue.
I don't have enought info yet, on evo400's custom Piper grind to comment.

I looked at the Piper Rally Cams in their catalogue today and thought, Hmmmm. Who is a U.S. distributor though?

nix: With regard to the British Evo owner's preference for equal lift on both intake and exhaust cams...They seem to be of the consensus that equal intake and exhaust lift is better for torque and spool with the stock turbo. Thus, the Piper Rally cam with 11.5 intake and 11.5 exhaust lift is preferred by them in stock turbo applications. Sorry, I am ignorant as to the reasoning behind their preference. Maybe TedB will explain.

I consulted with Dave before buying my HKS 272s. I told him I am on the stock turbo so the 264s would be better for that but plan to upgrade to 20G-LT eventually and then maybe meth after that so I wanted room to upgrade. He agreed the 272s would be great for the 20G-LT. Gotta love the good old 272s.

... Collecting info on every cam I can find, including OEM. It'll take a while.
I'll try to post other "screens" soon. BTW if anyone finds errors please post/PM.
I'll edit the list and repost the pix.

Yes that seems to be the concensus. But Blade's (pretty old) thread was also in reference to cam selection using bigger turbos as well as strokers. It's interesting. That's why the Piper cam issue came up in the first place. I'll try to dig it out and post the link soon.

He is the guru. You can't get better advice than that.
I'm building a dedicated AutoX (and weekend warrior) so my needs are different.
I got an EvoGREEN + O2 (from Buschur. Thank God for the Xmas sale.)
Adding 3" downpipe etc. + Piper cam kit + 880cc injectors + Water/Meth etc.
Got some sweet (used) 3-way adjustable coil-overs four days ago too
Next some poly bushings + 9 or 9.5 rims and tyres... and on... and on... and on!
