20G-LT Camshaft options....

So i am basically BR stages 1-4 and am deciding what camshafts to run with my 20g-lt. I'm a little torn between the S1's and Cosworth. Both have shown pretty good results, but i'm trying get some responses from those who have a similar setup to let me know the likes and dislikes. Please keep in mind i'm in california so i have to use meth to compensate the ****ty 91 octane. With that said i'm already aware i will not get that high of numbers, plus i'm running a hi flow cat. My overall goal would be 400 whp.

I'd like to ask the same question, but on an VIII instead of a IX.

I am on the same boat, trying to figure out what cams to run on my VIII.

I already sent Greg at GSC an e-mail asking his opinion and he basically pointed me

I'm running GSC 280's Because they seem to have a very good powerban.. nice idle.. and really good quality.

Also no need to install springs/retainers.

On my VIII I am running HKS 280/272 with my TME, and will initially keep that combo when I change over to the FP EvoGreen, however, I may eventually switch cams over to something like the JUN 264's. It will be interesting to see comparative dyno results on the 20G-LT as they begin to appear, with the different cam options, such as the Revolvers, JUNS, HKS, Cosworth, and etc.

On a VIII with a stock head I would run HKS 280's or try the JUN 264's. If you had a built head along with AEM and wanted maximum power you could look into something like the JUN 272's which would be a extreme setup.

If you have VIII, go whit the Pipers BP285, you will get tons of torque.

Here's an idea... ask Buschur or Forced Performance. At this point, there are a lot of educated opinions, but few actual results regarding the "best cams" to use with this turbo. The math may add up, but it does not always translate to the pavement.

I run the HKS 272s with the Green/20g-LT. However, I have not tried any other cams with this turbo on this car to compare to, so I won't make a worthless recomendation that is merely opinion and not based on test results.

Based on test results (392WHP / 401 WLb-ft) with 'Gen1' TD/Evo400 BB turbo
I agree with RanEvo.

Looks like "more airflow + moderate duration + higher valve-lift = more mid-range torque." No firm results yet with EvoGREEN but for AutoX, I'm going to try Piper's Ultimate Road or their Rally cam kit first.

I swapped in the Revolvers over the HKS 272's that I had before and there is a significant torque increase in the mid range.
