Post Turbo EGT Numbers?

I am sure this has been discussed but I have been searching and I can't find any information. I finally got around to checking everything out on my new to me Evo and found that the PO had installed the EGT probe in the downpipe. I intend to move it to the manifold later this summer when I install an aftermarket exhaust. But for now I want to know what numbers to look at? Does anyone know how much the EGTs drop as they pass through the turbo? Whats a safe limit after the turbo?

It should idle around 750 to 800 degrees with the car fully warmed up.. Then just cruising around mine stays around 1100-12500... if i ambeating the car pretty hard it will creep to 1400.. As long as you dont break around 1500 you are ok.

Move the thermocouple ASAP to the #2 ex.manf. runner. This way you'll be checking the pulse on the hottest running cylinder and you'll have a fair idea of the temps on the surface of the #2 piston's dome. This is all you really want to know from an EGT gauge. The temp of the exhaust gases after the turbine housing and post O2 housing and down the DP aren't of much direct use in tuning.
