Go for HKS 2.3 stroker or stick with my JUN 2.2?

I am really contemplating on going for an HKS 2.3 liter stroker. I am presently on a JUN 2.2 stroker and I'm not sure how significant the power curve would be when I go for the HKS. This is also to compliment my turbo upgrade from an HKS GT3037S to a GT3240.

Anyone on an HKS 2.3 stroker or reviews?

Wow, it´s nice to have money and be able to consider doing a small displacement increase for big money. If it was my car I would just keep the 2.2L. You are gonna spend a lot of money to increase your engine´s displacement by about six cubic inches.

The difference would be pathetically small in comparison to the amount of money required to do it.

If you're really going to waste money increasing the displacement by .1 of a liter, at least you should waste less of it and wait until AutoMotoSports comes out with their 2.3 RR stroker.

be the first to shove a small block in there. i mean u got the money to do it, y not. it will solve all your liter problems too.

my opinion, LS7. about 13g's just for the complete motor, but i garentee u will have the most unique evo out there.

As a practical matter, what is the advantage of going to the JUN race prepped engine block in comparison to your current short block? I´ll assume that your existing JUN short block is perfectly serviceable and running flawlessly. Since it´s JUN, then it very well should be.

Why mess with a good thing? IMO, you´d be better off leaving well enough alone. There are guys on here that would kill for a JUN 2.2L., like the one you´ve already got my friend. There is no real, worthwhile horsepower to be gained from a race prepped, blueprinted block, if, as in your case, you already run a standard duty JUN 2.2L. short block.

Instead of spending more money on the bottom end of your setup, and if you really feel the urge to modify, then why not consider a Cosworth cylinder head for your Evo. I only wish I had your problems. Incidentally, I am curious to know what turbo you are running on your Evo? Take care.

Actually, my present engine block was made by Creative Speed Philippines. They were the ones who installed the JUN stroker kit and JUN parts. So basically, this is my engine's first trip to Japan for the new JUN short-block. Presently, my engine is still not yet a JUN prepped engine, we just used the JUN parts and it was Creative Speed who installed them, did the short block and head.

I am presently using an HKS GT3037S turbokit with an APEXi GT Intercooler. We are also upgrading the turbo to an HKS GT3240 with a Garage HRS exhaust manifold. Other upcoming upgrades are a Holinger dog-change kit, Bosch 1600cc injectors, JUN surge tank, and Motec M800. When? Depends on how my budget will go.

If you are wondering though, the car runs great but with this new upgrade witht he JUN block and the GT3240, we expect more power (definitely) without sacrificing its perfect streetability. With my present set-up, I am able to drive my car normally, even in heavy traffic. And when I say traffic, this is the normal manila stop and go traffic.

Why do you need 1600cc injectors for turbos so small?

That is if I decide to upgrade my turbo further to a GT3540, and that upgrade plan is still indefinite, or maybe not. Depeds really on how the car will go when the engine gets shipped back here from Japan. The very sure upgrade as of now is the JUN prepped block, HKS GT3240 with HRS manifold. Right now, I am on Sard 1000cc injectors and dual Bosch fuel pumps

JUN and HKS "race" blocks are a huge waste of money IMHO.
Get a Buschur 2.3 and be done. HKS manifolds break, ask Big Al. They also don't warranty the mani. HKS turbos are WAY over priced. Just get it direct from Garrett or FP or where ever.
Sorry I'm so straight forward but I'm saying what everyone else is thinking. Good luck!
