Exclamation 20g ?

I recently received my 20G-9 turbo and want to make sure of something before it is installed. The turbine does not slide in and and out of the housing at all, but I noticed that it does have a slight play in it. When I grab the turbine on the compressor side it can be moved slightly up and down and left and right but not enough to touch the compressor housing. Is this common for all turbos? or is it not suppose have any play in it at all?

That is ok, once the bearing is pressurized with oil that will not be an issue. Go for it!

Thanks. I couldn't get my hand in to check mine so I wanted to make sure that it was fine before spending on labor

a tiny bit of shaft play is OK, a TINY bit. If it feels loose you will probably blow it soon after install

sounds like everything is fine to me. a tiny bit of play is normal, even on a brand new turbo.
