Yeah, the old style direct replacement Forge was not good at all. Fortunately, they recently changed the internals to match the Forge RS, so they now perform well, but the old ones were poo.

Nope, no Dejon tool fix here. I actually have been using the 1G for only about a month. I'm interested in crushing or the Dejon fix for when I run with higher boost on alky, but I'm worried about compromising the drivability. Does the Dejon fix make it more likely to flutter?

The worst thing about the whole Buschur upper pipe with the flanged valves is that it won't seal well unless I RTV the valve into place. Discovered this with a boost leak test. I think the flange on the pipe is warped.

Well he is buying the intercooler pipes flanged for the 1st Gen BOV so the Dejon tool upgrade is the end all fix for him. Really smooth drivability and as quiet as the stock plastic one.

Evo8ltw,

Are you using the paper type gasket it comes with it? When I installed mine I can tell it was really tight, the two allen screws work very well but again you did one extra step that I haven't done, you leak tested it.

As far is the leak you are talking about, remember, it could be actually leaking from the bottom of the BOV where it opens thorugh the recirculating tube.

No fluttering for me....just the strong WHOOOOSH.

As for the RTV, I never had to use it on the flange. I did use some on the threads on the bolts though. I just used the stock 1st gen gasket.

I am using the thin gasket. The leak was where the BOV seals to the flange. I could feel the air rushing out with my finger where the flanges met. With RTV, it seals 100%. I think I've seen posts on here about this and Dave Buschur offered to fix anyone's pipe who had the leak by milling it flat (to cure the warpage from welding the flange on), but I just don't want to go to the trouble of shipping my pipe back and forth.

Straight edge and file my man The RTV works for you so no worries. Look into the Dejon tool mod Rich, you wont be disappointed.

Is it easy to crush the BOV? I think it would be hard to cut the flange off and weld a longer bung on there for the 9 BOV. I will see what I have to do. The Buschur UICP is really nice but heavy as hell!

i am also running a 1g on uicp and my evo 8 br350 runs like a dream! i got this idea from "danny 23" and put it to work. what an awesome setup !! there is no comparison to other dv's. the stock location always had issues (tried 6 dv valves). i am running @ 21 psi uncrushed. everyone should try this set up, you will love it, no issues at all, thanks again "danny 23".

Okay, I think I'll order one of those kits. Only $50, so worth a shot. So, you don't need to crush the BOV if you use one of these kits?

Uncrushed 1g >> 23psi max here.

Are any of you guys having noise issues with this BOV? Mine came as part of the Buschur upic kit. At low-mid speeds, every time I lift the gas pedal it whistles/squeaks quite a bit. It sounds like worn out brake pads...it's driving me crazy! Is there any fix to this problem?

I have tested a few 1G BOV's one being crushed and the other stock and I found they leaked at around 17-18psi.

The only effective 1G BOv I have seen to hold more is the dejon tool modifided valve. Although you can find a IX BOV for less and it is not modded and holds boost great to say around 25psi.
