Im not really worried about the money, I was just worried about the noise. Now that I know its not going to kill anything , then Im fine. Other then the noise, it really did add to the pick up. Could it be possible that this clutch added a little WHP? Im almost sure it did.

hey guys, just to provide some clarification here:

03/04 Evos: No ACD = chatters while clutch pedal is engaged, but decel noise is going to be noticeable coming from the TC.

05/06 Evos: With ACD = the decel noise shouldn't be there, but it still chatters while clutch pedal is engaged.

Hope this is useful...

It's best to find another person who has that setup and have you hear it in person before you put it in your car. We have tons of cars running the Carbonetic/ATS here in Phoenix so all of our customers know to expect the chattering before we do the install.

Our Shop 8 (04 model) had an ACT and Exedy Twin before, and both did not last more than a few months - it now has the Carbonetic Triple Carbon on it. Since it doesn't have an ACD, the decel chatter is quite loud.

Like someone else mentioned on here, any time you have free floating disc, there's bound to be some noise.

BTW, what's the going rate for the Exedy Triple?

i had this clutch and it was very annoying, probably the loudest twin I have heard. The guy at the track thought my car was broken and wouldn't let me run. My Exedy Triple is quiet and I have also used the twin quartermaster and that was even not that loud.

i have this clutch and when the clutch is depressed it chatters....also when you let off gas it chatters also....i got used to the noise though....it isnt that annoying as people make it up to be....come on people you drive evo's they are not supposed to be quiet.

btw, if you dont like the chatter dont ever get aftermarket mounts......you will hate your car even more with this clutch and mounts.

Why would the ACD effect the level of noise? Does the diff unlock on decel with the ACD? Anyway, that's good news for me as my car is and 05' and I should have the twin disc in it soon.

the WHP your feeling is probably from what you were losing due to your old clutch slipping. now that you have this new strong clutch that isnt slipping thats the WHP your feeling. thats my guess.
