An oil pressure gauge is vital to monitoring and safeguarding the engine in any high performance car, especially one as high strung as the Evo.
For those of you interested, I have found several good spots for an oil pressure gauge to read off of. The first and most obvious spot is the stock oil pressure sensor. Although that sounds easy enough, it is a REAL ***** to get to. There are several ways to get to it. The easiest is if you are installing a clutch because the sensor is right above the transfer case and once that is out of the way it makes it a snap to get to. The other way is taking out pretty much everything near the master cylinder side of the engine bay and the majority of the stuff around the throttle body. The other location would be to T into the oil supply line for the turbo, although this would monitor only the pressure going to the turbo (well it would also give a pretty good indication if something is up elsewhere to).
By the way, for some stupid reason Mitsu engineers decided to use British pipe tread rather than National Pipe Thread on the head and block just to make things that much more difficult.
