Transfer Case carrier removal ?

Well I just bought a '04 RS LSD and am swapping the carriers in my '03. I have the passenger axle out and the cover off the t-case. I was just wondering if I should be able to simply pop the carrier out or if I have to remove the driver side axle and half-shaft? I am using the write-up here:
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=131349 It seems like you should just be able to slide the carrier out but it isnt moving easily and I dont want to mess something up.

I just did the install.
You need to take them both out. They are both clipped inside the diff housing. They need popped out to pull the carrier out.
