Stock for stock? How about mod for mod, too. The difference in power on a IX increases with mods.

Lcnvz28, you really need to search, man. That's not cool to join up and not even read the rules, which say not to post a thread before searching.

Matt, although you were being funny, I probably am the only person to really run 12-flat...as in 12.000. The bane of my existence...argh.

Your brothers camaro must be the most craptastic mullet riding high boy POS in the history of all of chevy to have full bolt ons, slicks, a 150 shot and be running 11.80's With some kooks longtubes, dumps and a 150 shot on slicks my brother ran 10.80's in an LT1 camaro. You only need like 440-460 hp and great driving to hit high 10 second passes

Don't forget the spare transmissions you're going to need.

I lied, I just called him, he had a mild cam he decided to never tell me about. Still making around 500 on a 150 shot. It was an auto tranny cutting better '60 times than most evo owners can do with 4 wheels.

guys give the guy a break...

A mbc is a manual boost controller- forge and hallman are usually what everyone runs. A LICP is a lower intercooler pipe which replaces a very restrictive pipe going into the intercooler (check out ams, buschur, nisei)

As far as the differences between the 8 and 9, the IX has many differences such as the turbo, the addition of mivec, better coolant passages in the block and so on... this allows the 9 to make more power stock, and with a couple bolt ons, you can be making a lot more power than an 8 would at those same mods. hope this helps

Wow, a lot of bad info if he's got a IX. A friend of mine ran 11.7 on 93, and 11.5 in his Evo IX with the following: BR intake,BR UICP & bat, Forge MBC, 255 walbro, BR TBE, excedy twin clutch & a re-flash. He made his passes on RT615's aired down to 22 psi.
I know of another guy in my area who ran 12.3 in his IX, with only a drop in filter, no exhaust from the DP back and a custom flash by my tuner,Marco @ : http://www.billetdesign.com/home.php
It's not hard to do! You can very easily get in the 11's
