and also i read and hear from tuners personally that mitsu filter is the only filter to use because of some special channel or somthing that it has.
AMSOIL TSO 0W-30 is the recommended oil by AMSOIL..
In this case, look at the Hot weight, the 30.... The Winter weight is measured at 32 Degress F and the Summer weight is measured at 212 Degrees F, using 2 different types of test procedures.
I will see if I can get an answer from my Technical Department on the filter. Can you supply me with the Mits part # ?
We just introduced our EAO-46 last week.

As with anything, when it comes to racing, all bets are off...
But you need to move off of the 0W part and look at the 30.
The reason AMSOIL and I say our TSO 0W-30 product is that it has one of the most aggressive additive packs we offer. Under normal driving conditions, it is a 35,000 mile or 1 year oil.
I have a guy with a Mazda RX-7 that runs Street/Strip and though oil analysis, he has found that he can run 17,000 miles before he has to change.
I have Big Block Chevy Drag cars that went from 20W-50 to our 0W-30 and picked up 3 tenths in the Qtr.

AMT is the second choice after TSO. Both oils are "Turbo" Formulated....It is a 1year/25,000 mile oil when using our EAO filters under Normal driving conditions. Hard driving, racing and dusty, dirty conditions all effect oil life. Another thing that effects oil life is the air filter you choose.
"Turbo Formulated" came about years ago because of the coking that happened in the oil lines and galleries on Turbo cars. I believe it was Penz that started it as they had to formulate it from a Pure base stock which meant that it was not a recycled oil. Penz is/was the largest reclaimer of oil in the world
AMSOIL had to follow Marketing Trends just as with Motor Cycle oil.. If it didn't say "V-Twin" on it, The Harley crowd wouldn't buy it... viola... Auto oil relabeled "V-Twin oil..Met the proper Specs, just needed the name.
This is NOT the case in ALL products as noted by what Penz had to do.. Just a little insight on a Few Products.
Back to the Mits Filter... Nothing special about it... More marketing to sell an inexpensive filter that goes out for bid every 1-3 years or so.

man, i don't think i'd feel comfortable riding around with the same oil/filter for a year! i'd be paranoid. i change my mobil 1 out every 3K, even though mitsu says it'll last 5K.
well people never thought engines would last well over 300,000 miles back in the day either. technology my man. but i have one on order, so i will let u know how i likes!
yeah, my car is a daily driver that doesn't see a lot of track action. i think changing my mobil 1 every 3K is probrably overkill, but it makes me feel better. how long do you think the amsoil would hold up in a DD evo with limited track use?
I've used royal purple in all my FI cars and I would say for the money and perfomance Redline Motor oil is the best. If you are running stock Mobil1 Syn. Extended Performance is really good. At my local shop if you buy a box its $2 off each bottle. $9.99 for 1 bottle = $7.99, Royal Purple I think is $10.99 and Mobil1 Syn EP: $6.99 or $7.25

So, I don't have to change oil and filter for a year? am I lost or what?
