Mobil 1 to Royal purple
Mobil 1 is great oil. I dont understand why people freak out because a few members say its no longer fully synthetic? Thats so stupid. Im not saying thats your reason for switching, so dont take it the wrong way.
Yes run OEM filter, one of the best, if not the best filter for the evo.
You can change to a different brand sythetic oil every oil change if you want, nothing will happen to your engine.
Ive ran Amsoil, royal purple and redline in my G35 coupe, and ran the car hard. I could not tell the smallest diff. between them, so i settled on the cheapest and reputable Mobil 1. Yes its a NA V6, and an evo is a boosted I4, so maybe you will feel something, let us know. Im very curious. take care.

i use nothing but royal purple 10w30 with a oe filter. or filter is improtant.
I've used royal purple in all my FI cars and I would say for the money and perfomance Redline Motor oil is the best. If you are running stock Mobil1 Syn. Extended Performance is really good. At my local shop if you buy a box its $2 off each bottle. $9.99 for 1 bottle = $7.99, Royal Purple I think is $10.99 and Mobil1 Syn EP: $6.99 or $7.25
Pay attention to the oil's specs:
I would not put an oil that does not meet these specs:
API SL or SM
ACEA A3/B3/B4
M1 10W30 does not meet ACEA high performance specification!
M1 0W40 not only meets ACEA, but meets 99% of the auto insustries requirements

I love these statements that have no backing. Last research reported both had the same amount of hydrocarbons and M1 is still cheaper. Countless Car manufacturers only recommend Mobil 1 (BMW's M Division, Mercedes' AMG division.)
i don't want to go again over this one. lets say, i used both...
also i used redline too.
"manufacturers only recommend Mobil 1 "
manufacturers recommend them, because they have contract with them....
plane and simple.
