What your asking is "if i (the reader) installed a pump on my ride when i was modded at your level, and should you (the write do it". It depends on you man. The question you should ask yourself is what is peace of mind worth to you. If you plan on further modifications then yes you should upgrade it and even if you don't , what's the hurt in being safe? You wouldn't go to bed with a strange woman (well you shouldn't) if you didn't have a condom would you, just to be safe, throw one in and have a good time.

Its just insurace bro, you dont need it till you need it. And if that fuggin thing goes lean you will wish you had it. However, if your gonna rock it like that put a wideband in the car. So you can see if the car is lean or not.

Make it simple . . .

If you're not going to do anything else with the car, you're fine where you are.

If you do plan to make other upgrades, changing the pump is cheap and easy enough such that the best proposition is to do it sooner than later.

you will be fine i have mbc, turbo back, intake, and a dynoflash tune running 21 psi. with no pump. I have seen a stock 05 evo dyno'd at ams with no mods what so ever. it was running 21 psi from the factory.

So you think I need it? Some people say I do, some people say I don't. Can anyone testify to the whiney noise it's supposed to make and let me know how noticeable it is.

What psi is safe to run w/out a fuel pump.
......... You must mean w/o an upgraded fuel pump.

Should we be running less boost like the stock 18-20psi w/out a fuel pump
......... W/o a fuel pump you won't be running at all

Call me paranoid.

Most people on here are saying that a stock IX motor running 21-22psi does NOT need an upgraded fuel pump. But....I'll probably end up getting the 255 cause a number people say that I should. I wanna know if the IX's stock fuel pump is safe for 21-22psi. Someone has to know how much boost is safe to run with the stock IX fuel pump. I preferably do NOT want to put the 255 in, but I will if 21-22psi will create issues.

A realistic response would be much appreciated. Not someone telling me that my car wont be running at all.

Just spend less than 100 bucks and drop it in. It takes less than 30 minutes to put it in. Its cheap insurance and great piece of mind for further upgrades.
