I have neither, but you should expect very similar quality and fitment given both are quality JDM brands and both are 2.75".

+1. I'm running this with a RMR TP and espelir's catback. Sounds awesome!

espleir is not 2.75"

In fact its less. It retains the factory donut gasket, where as the tanabe comes with a new donut gasket because its much larger.

Up close you can visually see the differences.

However, the espleir may taper outward and get larger but the ends are 2.5"

Esplier's 70mm DP is basically 2.75 b/c 2.5" = 69.85mm. So that would make it larger than 2.5"
That's the one I have. I purchased it from Road Race Engineering ($200 shipped) because I was tired of all the 3" ones that were either too close to the oil pan, hit the TC or required spacers under the lower tie bar. This DP fits as good as the stock one w/ no modifications. I'm sure there will be ppl that will jump on here and say "well, it diesn't make as much power as my or so-and-so's 3." The only thing I have to say is, more power to ya.
I'm not looking to squeeze every ounce of HP out of the car in the first place.
I'm completely content with purchasing a part that IMO provides enough clearance from vital engine components, gives me zero trouble and has a gain over the stock unit.

Edit: Also, the 3" DPs that use a stock type gasket, the part that fits over the donut is the same. I used my stock gasket with all of the 3" DPs and none of them leaked.
