Clutch dead?

Hey guys.

Im fairly new here and from denmark - so excuse my english if I cant type right :P

I recently bought a Evo8, with various mods ect - should produce about 330-350bhp..

I ran into a problem the other day - when I floor it, when it hits 3.5k rpm or so, as the turbo has started, it quickly climbs to about 5.5-6k rpm, then drops to 3.5k again and starts too pull up in speed, when I slow down again, I can smell burned rubber - my first though was that my clutch is dead..

My question is, could it be anything els?

Could anyone tell me how much bhp/torque the stock clutch can handle?

This indeed sounds like the symptoms of a slipping clutch. The amount of power you are putting down is insignificant compared to how many miles and how much abuse the clutch has seen in the past. If the clutch has been abused or has seen too much action, it will start to slip. Time for a twin plate! =)

Luckly, Im getting the dealer to cover it, so I dont have to produce any $$ myself

But when I have to put money into it, I will go for a twin plated one
