Dam Bill, wtf is up with your EVO? You treat her so well, yet she hates you Sorry I don't have any suggestions, hopefully someone will chime in soon with the info you need.

BTW, any other symptoms?

I live in NJ, the weather has been crazy around here. I have a greddy Profec ll and i have seen huge variations in boost. One day it was like 18 degrees out my set was at 40% and i saw 23 psi on the recall , middle of last week it was like 40 degrees and i had to change set to over 55% to even see 19 psi. I would check for a boost leak, but i could be the EBC. I am definatly switching to an MBC.

WG, sounds like you're running on the WG only. Check all the boost lines

I checked over all the bosst lines at a buddy's house and we did a boost leak test as well. There were no leaks, and the lines all checked good. We even bypassed the boost solenoid and ran a line direct to the WG and still had the same results. Thus eliminating the chance of it being the EBC, right?

Hey Matt. Yeah it's kinda sad. I don't track her, I change my oil every 2k to 2500k miles with the plugs, drivetrain fluids every 5k, and still i'm plagued with all this BS.
No other symptoms. If I mash the gas, sometimes I may hit 16psi.

So you've bypassed the boost solenoid, but did you check the WG?

We checked it to the best of our ability considering my stock lower heat shield is on. We removed two bolts and pried the shield foward, the cotter pin was still in place and things "looked" okay but, there was no real room to work with and this is my DD. Is there a way to test it on the vehicle?

The fact that you havent thrown any codes yet make me think its the its the turbo/ waste gate. Take the intake off, check the fins on the compressor.

Get the heat shield out of the way. take the O2 housing off. Check the wastegate. Make sure its not stuck/cracked open. Check the fins on the turbine.

If everything checks out ok. Do a compression check. Doubt thats the problem, but its a fast easy thing to check.

to test your WG, unplug the vacuum line to it, them put a vaccuum tester on it...if the WG moves the full swing, it's fine. That's how you test on the car..
