IX Turbo on VIII, How do you like it?

For the guys with just the regular IX Turbo (not the 20g) on there VIII's, how do you like it?? Do you have any dyno graphs or proven results and what other mods do you have. I just bought one and want to see if it was money well spent.

Dynographs and drag results have been posted by those people in their own threads. it's a good upgrade for VIIIs, especially 03s that only have a 9.8 hotside. Expect 20-30whp gains on the same boost level.

I'm curious to know how well the IX turbo REALLY runs on the VIII as well.

Been told that the IX turbo would be good for 350whp on a IX, but only 330 whp on an VIII due to some differences in the engine itself.

You should of bought an FP Green turbo. That would of been money even more well spent. With this turbo you will get stock like spool up time and near 500whp potential on a Dynojet. The FP Green is the best bang for the buck turbo ever made for the 4G63T. It's bolt-on too.

That's probably due to the fact that the IXs have MIVEC.

if i were going to do a turbo upgrade i would have to swap a turbo that would actually make a lot more power than stoock. like a 50 trim of gt30r. its not really worth he tiime for me to swap out a turbo with such minimal gains.

there's a guy by the name of Marv in Tempe with a silver '05 who installed the IX turbo. he put down 312whp/310tq on a Mustang Dyno & ran 12.49@113. he doesn't own a pc hence why he's not a member...

That's exactly what my car made with th IX turbo. IIRC my 05 gained 17 whp and about 5-7 ft/lbs. More peak numbers than under the curve. Worth it? To me, yes. Took about 2 hours to install and when I go bigger it will sell easily.

Besides, IX turbos are so damn cute!
