The exedy twin has a stock like pedal feel. Now I'm guessing you're talkin about the exedy single organic right? Not the hyper single. The organic has a heavier pedal feel than the twin and a stocker.

is the hyper single the stage two single disc(cerametallic disk)-its rated I think to 500 ft lbs of torque while the stage one single(organic disk) is rated to 400 ft lbs.

We generally stay away from the Hyper single on both the EVO and STI applications because of the chatter and harsh engagement. For the money, if you're running a mildly upgraded turbo (at 370-380) I would definitely do the Exedy 6-puck ceramic metallic. I have this in my personal EVO, it grabs strong sharp but light pedal feel and very little clutch noise. For the $749 w/ flywheel we're selling them at, you'll save enough to pay for about half your install versus the hyper single.

That said, if you're planning on making a lot more power and going to the drag strip a lot (like GT30R+ territory) you would definitely want to consider the Exedy twin - this is a good clutch kit that holds up to abuse and power - it's just about double the price.

Cheers,

Gary

The twin disk is really the way to go. Strong clutch and not much more pedal pressure. My car is a daily driver and sitting in traffic with it isnt too bad.

Agreed, if $$ wasn't a big issue, the Exedy twin disk is the way to go. However for me money is always an issue so I opted for the Exedy 6-puck with the Gruppe-S flywheel which is half the price. I am running a 20G turbo making tons of torque with launch control, and I'm abusing this clutch - it's holding it very well. The pedal feel is actually softer than the ACT setups, but it grabs harder.

Just thought I'd throw out a few options for the guys on a budget. If you need an exedy twin we get those at great prices also hehehe.

Cheers,

Gary

my experince with the exedy single hyper is not satisfactory.

it is very noisy and it is not comfortable.

i done 30K Kilometer (not mile) and it is slipping.

had to replace. please no body install this crapy clutch.

my friend (who is 2.3 and doing autocross) replaced it with Raliart Twin (probable it the same exedy twin but with special specs for ralliart) and it is very good.

i tried the car and it feels lighter than the single but the engagement is firm.

he got it with some special discount for around 1500$

The Ralliart twin is made by Exedy with very similar specs as the Exedy SD.

The twin is the way to go if you can spend the money although the Organic/Stage 1 and Cerametallic/Stage 2 are great clutches that many people overlook. I have installed both and they are the way to go for less money and great holding power.

Gruppe-S,
The Exedy I have now is a 4 puck, can I get a 6 puck disc only? Or has the whole clutch set changed? Thanks.
