Am I missing anything before the reflash?

whats up,

I want to know if i have all the basic power upgrades out of the way before i reflash so i only need to do it once. I want to maximize the power out of the stock turbo, without meth on 91 pump.

the car is an evo ix se.

mods: Apexi power intake w/ induction box, TTP o2 housing/DP/TP, Hks Carbon/Ti, GSC s1 cams.

is there anything i should get before the flash? mbc/ebc is not needed correct? as it should be able to be controlled by the ecu when tuned.

and what about fuel pump on the 9? also are the any gains to be found by upgrading the licp/uicp... if so, by how much?

thanks guys!

Yes, MBC is needed. ECU doesn't control boost by itself without chaning the boost hoses and restrictor pills. Also:

- Ported/coated stock exhaust manifold
- LICP
- Fuel pump

You will not be able to be flashed without a fuel pump. Atleast from ams or dynoflash. Either way get one. Licp is good for around 10 hp. I would get the mbc. It helped me keep more boost up to redline. Good luck and enjoy.

I concur. Forge UNOS manual boost controller is recommended. Set it and forget it. Very nice linear boost curve with that unit compared to some of the other junk controllers in the market.

you should still consider porting the exhaust manifold and o2 housing. you can also port the hotside of your turbo.

anyhow before the flash be sure to do a boost leak test, compression test and get new spark plugs put in. dont forget to gap them either. good luck on the tune!

He already listed an o2 housing, so he's good there, and you can't port the SS o2's. He'll only be missing out on the ported manifold/turbine really...

you would definetely need a fuel pump for the cams alone. I would also do the MBC.

Why not? I just want to know.He is talking about maximizing the stock turbo. Part of that is optimizing things like the intake and exhaust manifolds by porting them. While I'm at it he should also get the Buschur Racing 65mm throttle body. Every bit helps when you want to maximize the stock turbo, correct?

He wasn't talking about going that crazy. There's a bunch of other stuff you'd do before porting the intake manifold. He spoke about "maxing" out the stock turbo, but he's really not even close to that yet with his current and planned mods.
