The analogy is the Windows/Apple battle. Shiv wouldn't give up distribution or discount units for re-sale and now it's too late (I wonder how long his exclusive with Xede Australia is 'cause this could change...).

There's no upside for a shop to tune an Xede and the average joe won't risk doing it EVEN if it's easy.

And that's why they are not widely used.

Maybe Dyno4mance is different? There is a hourly fee for tuning, bring anything you have. Why not make money as a shop? If a customer has something they want to be tuned, a good shop should tune it if able. Its money in their pocket.
